What is PLUM!?

PLUM! is an international animation film festival born in Tucumán to build a meeting place for artists, professionals, students and audiences from Argentina and the world.
Through screenings, training activities, labs, talks and spaces for exchange, the festival drives the circulation of films, professional development and the creation of new networks for animation in northern Argentina.
We believe animation is an artistic tool capable of imagining other worlds, questioning reality and creating new forms of encounter. That is why PLUM! celebrates the diversity of techniques, languages and perspectives that make animation a territory in permanent transformation.
Mission
To advance the development of animation in northern Argentina through the exhibition of films, training, the exchange of knowledge and the building of networks among artists, professionals, institutions and communities.
Vision
To build a landmark space for animation in northwest Argentina that helps decentralise cultural production and circulation, strengthening a regional scene connected to Latin America and the world.

PLUM! LAB
PLUM! LAB is the animation project development space run by the festival.
Its aim is to support creators through the different stages of developing their work, offering tools, mentoring and spaces for exchange that strengthen their projects and broaden their chances of production and circulation.

Open call

LAB results
August 2026Selected LAB projects announced by 15 August at the latest. (The official film selection is in October — see Open call.)
Online sessions
Sep → Oct 2026September: one script session. October: two script sessions. Leading up to the final pitch.
In-person session
November 2026Tafí del Valle. Two pitch rounds: one internal and one open to the public during the festival.
Awards
During the festivalWinning projects receive grants to be announced in due course.
Conditions of participation
- Authors, students and professionals from the audiovisual industry anywhere in Argentina. Places are reserved for projects from the northwest.
- Animated films or animated series at an early stage of development.
- Attend every one of the online script sessions.
- Attend the Plum! Festival in person in Tafí del Valle for the pitch round.
- Accommodation and travel are covered by each participating team.

Who runs it

Luz Márquez
Screenwriting mentor
Screenwriter. Professor and graduate in Film from Universidad del Cine, where she has taught since 2007, alongside teaching at other institutions. She writes for both live action and animation, and works as a script doctor and project consultant. In animation, she created and developed several series across different techniques and formats. Some of the short films she worked on have been recognised and awarded at international festivals. She has also taken part in labs and festivals as a juror and mentor. She continues to develop both commissioned and personal work, and is currently working on her next short film, which she also plans to direct.
Romina Savary
Production mentor
Producer specialising in animation, with extensive experience developing and producing content for film and television. She was executive producer of Yo te adopto (2023), a co-production between Argentina, Chile and Colombia broadcast on Paka Paka, and of the short film Carlos Montaña (2022). She currently coordinates production on Pido Pausa and Hanta at Osa Estudio, and is development producer on Santa Sombra for Ojo Raro, both backed by Ibermedia Next and co-produced with Latin American and European companies. She is president of the Argentine Animation Producers Association (APA), coordinator of the APALAB lab and the International Animation Residency (RIA), and teaches at ENERC, La Metro and Universidad Nacional de La Matanza.
Bernardita Ojeda
Directing mentor
Bernardita Ojeda is an animation director and creator, founder of the Pájaro studio in Santiago de Chile. She has directed series for Cartoon Network and Ibero-American channels, notably Clarita, the first animated series produced entirely in Chile, and Petit —based on the book by Isol— twice nominated for the International Emmy and winner of the Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano and the Quirino Award. Her short film #NormaDeGéneroBinaria won the 2024 Quirino Award for Best Commissioned Short Film. As a co-producer she worked on Los Carpinchos (France, Uruguay, Chile), awarded at Quirino 2024 and longlisted for the 2025 Oscars, and on Olivia y el terremoto invisible (Chile, Spain, France, Switzerland and Belgium), winner of the Prix Fondation Gan at Annecy 2025 and a Goya nominee. She is currently developing Lucila, a feature film inspired by Gabriela Mistral's Poema de Chile.

¿Quiénes somos?
PLUM! is a non-profit festival, organised by Tincazo Cine together with Ruta del Tejido Cooperativa and a group of young audiovisual workers from Tucumán. Since 2023 we have championed animation as an artistic, cultural and political form in northwest Argentina.
Ours is a collective, sustained commitment: to strengthen a production and exhibition network that boosts local and regional work while speaking to the international scene.

Why do we make PLUM!?
and a crew that grows every year.
We are the first and only animation festival in the whole region —Salta, Jujuy, Tucumán, Catamarca, La Rioja and Santiago del Estero—, and that tells us there is a historical debt to this art form.
Today, most festivals specialising in animation are concentrated in Buenos Aires, which makes it harder for artists and audiences from the rest of the country to take part and be seen. Many films made in provinces such as Tucumán only circulate at festivals in Buenos Aires or abroad, and find nowhere to be screened where they were made.
PLUM! turns that logic around: a regional, accessible and community-driven platform that connects creators with audiences, encourages local production and provides tools for the professional development of the sector.
